How do I get started?
Get in Touch and we’ll be in contact and take you through all the stages. It’s very straightforward. The first stage is to complete our brief Registration Form which we’ll send you. You’re on your way then.
Is there a set up fee?
It takes a lot of work to design and build your website to a high standard. We also need to ensure customers who join Shortcut are committed to growing their business. So there’s a small one-off fee.
The actual amount depends on your specific requirements. For example, whether you already have a website and want Shortcut as an add-on, or whether you want an entire website as well as the online ordering facility.

How long until I can go live?
Once we get all your details, you can be up and running in less than two weeks. We want to get you live as much as you do.
How do I receive orders?
As standard, all orders are sent by email and can be handled by a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone. In addition, to let you know when an order has been placed there are several other options. These include text/phone alerts and our own Shortcut receipt printer. Orders can even be faxed. We’ll discuss your particular set up and come up with the right solution for you. If you have a POS / till system it may be possible to integrate directly with it.
Can I use my own domain (web address)?
Yes, we strongly recommend that you do. If you don’t have a domain already, we can check the most suitable ones that are available, and buy one. Your own website address enables customers to come direct to you.
How do customers pay for orders?
You can offer payment online when they order or later when they get their food. The options you give them are up to you. Customers paying online will have the choice of paying by credit/debit card or PayPal. By the way, they pay you direct, not us. So, you do not wait for us to transfer your own money to you.
How do I pay Shortcut?
You’ll receive a monthly statement and invoice. Afterwards the money owed is transferred by Direct Debit.
What do you mean by a fully-managed service?
We take care of the website hosting, maintenance and content changes – it’s all part of the service. Menu changes are usually done within 48 hours, but often sooner. There are no charges or admin fees for day-to-day changes. It’s all included in our 5% fee. If you want, you can change ordering times, preparation times and dates closed yourself through our online Control Panel. It also enables you to access reports and see the details of orders placed.
I do not run a delivery service. Can I still use Shortcut?
We have several customers who either do not want to offer a delivery service or haven’t got it set up yet, but plan to do so in the future. Even if customers collect their orders it still makes sense to offer them the convenience of ordering online direct. Shortcut is ideal in these circumstances.
I already have a website. Can I join Shortcut and add online ordering?
Yes you can use Shortcut as an add-on. We’ll model the ordering part to look like your website and can even help you with the design of the link on your site. Joining Shortcut can be a good time to replace an existing site. We can do that if you wish, it’s up to you.
What can I do to get the most out of Shortcut?
It’s vital that you promote your online ordering facility. At the very least put your website address on your takeaway menu and a clear “Order Online” message. We do a lot to help boost your online presence as part of the set up. These include basic SEO (search engine optimisation) and registration of your business with key directory services listing restaurants and takeaways. You can also use our design and marketing expertise to help promote your business in other ways. The cost of this is not included in our monthly service fee, but the overall returns are likely to make it very worthwhile.
Shortcut gives independent restaurants and takeaways their own website where their customers order takeaway direct. Not a portal/shared service.
